While there are a few places to visit in Phuket that offer elephant “sanctuaries”, two that come highly recommended are the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary and Tree Tops Elephant Reserve. Note: Many places are impersonating these ethical companies. make sure you are choosing a legit company that does not allow bathing the elephants, as this stresses out the animals.
At Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, you can even volunteer for several days if you’re interested. Taking care of elephants is also one of the best things to do in Chiang Mai.
